文化的用詞習慣會隨者時代改變，例如「chairman」改成「chairperson」、「娼妓」改成「倡伎」，本作品以婚姻用語為例，從傳統的用詞「嫁娶」，是「取女」和「出女家」的過程，相對於現代則多用「結婚」二字，是將雙方「結」在一起的概念。
The ways of using words and phrases in cultures change over time. For example, the person organizing a committee changes from Chairman to Chairperson, and the Chinese word, 娼妓, which means prostitutes, changes to 倡伎. Based on the Chinese wedding customs, this artwork is inspired by a traditional word to describe marriage. This word, 嫁娶, traditionally refers to the process of “taking her away” and “leaving her original family forever.” Compared to the modern times, we use the word, 結婚, more to describe a marriage as two being knit together and becoming a family.
